General feedback on CIA 4 argument essays:
If you were absent today, request an intervention pass to have some more time to revise your essay, which can only be done in-school. Weds, you read and annotated an article, then had some quiet work time for your imitative narrative. (You can pick the article up from the blue bin upon your return if you were absent.)
Today (Thurs) you wrote an in-class argument essay for common assessment 4. If you were absent today, you will make this up when you return. Friday, you took the multiple choice portion of the common assessment. If you missed the common assessment, you will make it up when you return. If you were absent today, please make sure to turn in your rhetorical analysis of your NLFD passage upon your return!
Today we spent some time working on our ePortfolios. If you were absent today or if you ever forget what's required in your ePortfolio, please hover over the APEL page and click on ePortfolios.
Today we had a debate of sorts on whether all people should attend college. Thank you for a great discussion! If you were absent today, your next discussion score will count as double. Please bring your completed graphic organizer for the argument sources to class tomorrow.
Today we discussed how the debate/Structured Academic Controversy will work tomorrow, and prepared for the debate by reading/annotating another article on the topic. Then you got into your teams and had some time to prepare by compiling outside evidence. Here are the slides with expectations and rubric.
On Thursday we will have a debate, and we prepared for it today by getting evidence from this source. Please read it if you were absent today, and fill out the first column of the graphic organizer that will help you keep track of information for the debate. Here are the slides from today.
