Today you got experience with what half of an AP test would feel like, by doing a full MC test and synthesis essay. Congrats on being done with your final common assessment for AP Lang!
Today you used feedback on your last essay to revise your essay, so that you can get a higher score and prepare for your upcoming synthesis essay. At the end of class you did a peer review to get some more feedback on your work and use it to make improvements. Remember, this revision is due 4/28 and all revisions are due 5/19. Here are the slides with general feedback if you need them. Your essay will also have a scored rubric on Turnitin.com.
Today we practiced our multiple choice skills, as we are on the final countdown til the AP test! (23 days left - 17 school days!) Then we did a protocol to improve our reading skills.
Some important reminders: SIGN UP FOR THE AP BOOTCAMP Saturday, 4/22! (Link is on the right) Bring your own supplies (paper, pen, pencils, watch) and snacks. Also, your last Common Assessment is this week, Thurs or Fri depending on block schedule (4th Thurs, 5th Fri). Be ready! If you were absent today, you will make up the synthesis essay and quiz when you return. You can and should finish the synthesis research packet on your own.
Today sophomores took the cast and then worked on their vocab quiz and synthesis packet, which the juniors worked on all period. Here are the instructional slides again. If you were absent today, you can make up the vocab quiz at lunch on Thursday or Friday, and you will be called in to make up the CAST. Please work on your synthesis packet at home if needed. This goes for 4/11 and 4/12 block schedule.
