If you were absent today, I strongly suggest you come 15 minutes before school (if you are in 1st period) or 15 minutes before the end of lunch (if you are in 5th period) to get & read the sources; otherwise, you will have to read and write within one class period (which is possible, but probably not preferable). You can see the synthesis slides to review tips here (slides 14-29).
If you were absent today, please read the slides here and make notes!
Today we had our discussion based on the sources yesterday. If you were absent, you were excused and your other discussion grades count double. If you have a question about your score, please see the rubric on the slides from yesterday (slide #9).
If you were absent today, see the slides here. You will pick up the sources at the beginning of class tomorrow and start on the outside circle.
If you were absent today, please see me when you return to get an intervention pass to make up the multiple choice.
If you were absent today, you will make up the in-class essay when you return.
If you were absent today, please check out the slides here. You are writing on the sources tomorrow so you want to make sure you are familiar with the sources and prompt. It would be a good idea to come to class 10-15 minutes before school or during lunch if possible so you can spend some time reading the sources; if not, you will be able to read the sources and write your essay during class. NOTE: Do not look at essays online; plagiarism will have consequences.
If you were absent today, see the slides here (13-15 are for today). You can see a brief example of descriptive outlining with the SMELL strategy below.
